Position Summary
This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of smaller commercial projects and may be assigned to assist the project superintendent on larger commercial projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or construction engineering required; equivalent experience considered.
Three years of construction experience on commercial projects ranging from $100,000 to $2M.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings required.
Must remain alert at all times to perform essential functions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from floor/ground to window height frequently.
When lift exceeds 100 pounds, other personnel will provide assistance and /or the use of lifting equipment such as a hand truck, dolly, hoist or lifting straps will be required.
Constant ability to walk, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repair.
Tolerance to all extremes of hot and cold weather (below 0 and above 100 degrees) frequently.
Success Factors
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction activities.
Working knowledge of material control.
Working knowledge of all construction trades, including surveying and engineering procedures.
Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
Ability to manage on-site personnel.
Ability to provide assigned personnel with positive work environment, growth, and training.
Ability to interact professionally with all parties associated with project.
